If you’re Halle Berry, then there’s no doubt that you’ve had your fair share of suitors trying to swoon you and win you over. But what happens when one of those suitors is none other than the late, great music icon Prince? Do you go on the date or turn him down due to his superstar status?

That was the question on everybody’s mind on Monday night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” when she appeared as a part of the press tour for her new film, “Never Let Go.” When asked by Kimmel whether or not it was true that the late Michael Jackson asked Babyface to ask her out on his behalf, Berry couldn’t confirm that. But what she told the audience next was equally as legendary: “I know Prince asked me out on a date.”
She continued:
“I was at one of his concerts here on Sunset at the Key Club, and he had somebody come out with a piece of paper. And you know like kids do, you say, ‘Do you like me? Yes or no.’ I went, yes! I mean, I’m at his concert, right? Yes! Came back out again: ‘Would you go out with me?’’
Berry then shockingly revealed that she didn’t check “yes” or “no,” and instead kept the paper for herself and never sent it back to him. And you know what? I’m not mad at that! You hear stories of women rejecting men all the time, but this is a different level. This is Halle Berry, and she opted not to go out with someone as famously lusted after as Prince. That takes some guts, and for that, I can do nothing but respect her! And to have two music megastars like Michael Jackson (allegedly) and Prince vying for her affection? Halle Berry needs to hold a masterclass at this point. Teach us your ways!
