The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 at his familyโ€™s home. According to police, Jonathan, 26, shot Hagley three times following a dispute. Last week, Hagley was charged with murder, possession of a weapon, and obstruction of justice after he was arrested while fleeing from a New Jersey crime scene, according to the Prosecutorโ€™s Office.

After discharging his weapon, Jonathan allegedly took off but was caught on a neighboring security camera running away from the scene, according to ABC 7. He was later arrested by police. Naomi was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

This is far from Jonathanโ€™s first criminal shooting: Harlem Police originally responded to a scene on Jan. 15, where a 37-year-old bystander was shot in his spine while caught in the broad day shootout, per the New York Post. Jonathan was also injured at the scene.

The following month, Jonathan and another suspect were arrested and charged with intention to murder, assault with serious injury, criminal possession and use of a firearm, reckless endangerment and more, according to Patch.com

Itโ€™s unclear what sparked the alleged fatal exchange between the siblings, but their father told police the deadly shots came from Hagleyโ€™s gun. Police were able to locate the weapon, which was dumped blocks from the crime scene. Jonathanโ€™s alleged pistol reportedly had its serial numbers scratched out, according to CBS.

The 26-year-old was out on bond for the Harlem shootout when he allegedly killed his sister. Previously in 2018, Jonathanย served a seven year sentence in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, burglary and weapons charges for an attempted robbery.

According to the New York Post, Jonathan also racked up assault charges while awaiting trial for previously stabbing a fellow inmate.

Hagley currents sits in the Bergen County Jailโ€™s psychiatric ward until he is scheduled for court.
