What’s Up With Joe Budden Avoiding the Diddy Video Topic on His Latest Podcast?

The popular podcaster claimed the segment on the Diddy video was edited from his latest episode.

Joe Budden is one of the most popular personalities in the Hip-Hop media space. His take on anything related to the music industry and the players involved is extremely insightful and interesting considering he was a rapper for nearly 20 years. So although everyone may not agree with him, Buddenโ€™s position on any music topic is normally respected.

But on his latest podcast, fans noticed that the โ€œPump It Upโ€ rapper avoided one topic: the brutal 2016 surveillance video of Sean โ€œDiddyโ€ Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

Though the description for episode 725 of the โ€œThe Joe Budden Podcastโ€ promised that the topic would be touched on, it never was...at least, not in the released podcast.

Naturally, this frustrated fans since they were looking forward to hearing Buddenโ€™s thoughts on the topic. It led some to believe that Budden was protecting Diddy because he previously had a partnership with Revolt, which was then Diddyโ€™s media company.

In response to the outrage from fans, Budden organized a spaces discussion on X, to share why he did not touch the topic on his latest podcast.

On Saturday, audio of the spaces discussion was obtained by TMZ.

โ€œDo you guys ever stop to think that not everything is this deep conspiracy that yโ€™all want it to be?โ€ Budden asked. โ€œWe were dead in the middle of our broadcast yesterday. Iโ€™ll put the suspense to bed. We were in the middle of our show when that news broke.โ€

He later added, โ€œWe spoke about it for four minutes, and then at the end, we spoke about it for another four minutes. Then I went outside with Emanny last night and he said to me, โ€˜Hey man, I think yโ€™all should readdress the Puff s**t cause yโ€™all are gonna get killedโ€™ and I said, โ€˜Why?โ€™ He said, โ€˜Yeah, it wasnโ€™t the address that was appropriate.โ€™โ€

Budden explained that their comments on the subject were insensitive at the moment.

Fans were also critical of Budden because he also stayed noticeably quiet about the lawsuit Ventura filed against Diddy in November 2023. He claimed that they mostly avoided the topic for โ€œlegal reasons.โ€
