Williamsโ guardianship started in May 2022 after her bank, Wells Fargo, froze her accounts. The financial institution took action due to concerns Williams being of unsound mind. Wells Fargo believed the former television talk show host was being financially exploited, with a financial guardianship being the best solution.
Hunter also experienced similar money trouble in 2022 when he was evicted from his former $2 million Miami apartment. He was sued for $70k in back rent that Williams couldnโt pay any longer stemming from legal and medical reasons. Williams has had a slew of health issues over the years including Gravesโ disease, lymphedema and drug and alcohol abuse.
Last month, her caretaker released a statement that stated doctors diagnosed Williams with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. โWendy is still able to do many things for herself,โ the statement read. โMost importantly she maintains her trademark sense of humor and is receiving the care she requires to make sure she is protected and that her needs are addressed.โ
Her issues were explored in the controversial Lifetime documentary, โWhere Is Wendy Williams?,โ which premiered in February. Hunter reportedly works as a party promoter in Miami while attending classes at Barry University.
