SZA was almost forced to leave one of her Australia concerts halfway through her performance due to the disrespectful behavior from the fans. On Tuesday (April 30), the “Snooze” singer’s first show at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne was marred by attendees who reportedly threw shoes and phones at her.

The Grammy-award winning songstress did not back down. “I will leave,” SZA commented on stage. “Do not throw up any cell phones, I’m a person. That’s crazy,”’ she continued while holding an item that was launched at her.
Sadly, there was even more rowdy behavior following this.
One fan tried to do a handstand in his seat but ultimately lost his balance and landed on another fan. Video footage allegedly shows several security guards trying their best to contain a fight in the general admission area of the venue.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen shocking instances of fans disrespecting the talent they bought tickets to see. Last year, a man threw a phone at singer Bebe Rexha during one of her shows in New York City. The phone hit her in the face, causing Rexha to immediately collapse onstage.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident caused Rexha “redness, swelling, bruising, and a laceration to her eye and substantial pain.” And who can forget the infamous incident last summer at a beach club in Las Vegas when Cardi B threw a microphone at a fan who threw a drink at the rapper onstage?
Video footage quickly circulated from the incident and caused Cardi to go viral. Luckily for SZA, she wasn’t injured by the unruly Melbourne fans. However, it’s clear that folks need to be reminded of appropriate etiquette when it comes to attending concerts and live performances.
