While discussing President Joe Bidenโs pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, the EGOT winner and โThe Breakfast Clubโ host got into a back and forth about whether the president is a hypocrite for changing his mind on the subject.
Charlamagne believes that the Commander-In-Chief wasnโt being truthful when he originally said that he wouldnโt pardon his son, believing this was always the presidentโs plan. This is where Goldberg jumped in to question his opinion. โIโm gonna stop you for a second,โ she said. โOnly because you donโt know that it was a lie. We donโt know why he changed his mind.โ
With the media personality asking the comedian/actress if she โreallyโ thought the president just suddenly changed his mind during Thanksgiving weekend, Goldberg explained that she thought he became tired of following political expectations as figures like Trump continue to push legal and ethical boundaries.
โI think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over,โ she said. โAt some point, you get to the place where you just go, โso Iโm just going to follow the straight-and-narrow always,โ because thatโs whatโs expected of Democrats.โ
The radio host went on to blame Democrats for putting themselves in this position by claiming the โmoral high groundโ when โthey donโt have to do that.โ
This led the โSister Actโ star to ask, โSo weโre mad at him because he changed his [mind]?โ Charlamagne responded, โIโm not mad at him for pardoning Hunter Biden.โ Goldberg joked back, โYou sound like youโre mad!โ
When the Oscar winner said she didnโt think the president was wrong for pardoning his son, Charlamagne confirmed he thought the situation was โridiculous.โ This led the legend to proclaim, โNo, youโre ridiculous.โ
This was followed by the โGet Honest or Die Lyinโโ author clarifying himself, saying, โI didnโt say you were ridiculous, Ms. Goldberg. I would never say that. I just think thatโs [ridiculous].โ This was met with Goldberg inviting him to โcome over here and give me a kiss.โ Which he did.
After a commercial break, she called Charlamagne her โnew sex partner,โ so clearly no oneโs feelings were hurt by the spirited argument.
