Patrol Officer David Lee did exactly what "The Wobble" song calls for and got his groove on at a community block party hosted by Kappa Alpha Fraternity and the Hickory Police Department of North Carolina.
In a video posted to Facebook last week, Lee appears in full uniform, getting down to "The Wobble." He knew all of the dance steps, had energy, swag and a whole lot of rhythm.
More than 200 members of the community were in attendance, according to reports.
Steve Davenport, president of a local Kappa Alpha Psi chapter in Hickory, told WBTV it's important for people to see police interacting positively with African Americans.
"Normally the only time the African-American community and the police interact is when something is wrong," Davenport said. "The whole concept for this event was to come together when nothing is wrong. We can actually coexist. We can have fun and just be people."
According to WBTV, the video had been seen more than 2.5 million times as of Monday. Check it out below.
