Faulkner, who is African American, appeared on the show ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday to give instructions on how to make her peach-cobbler recipe. While she was outlining the summer version, which includes fresh strawberries, Kilmeade asked Faulkner if she serves Kool-Aid, which, like eating fried chicken and watermelon, is a stereotype that has long been associated with African Americans.

Here is the exchange:

"I do it in the summer, and I put fresh strawberries in here, too," Faulkner said.

"Oh, what a good idea," said co-host Steve Doocy.

"Do you make Kool-Aid?" Kilmeade asks Faulkner.

"Do I do what?" she asked.

"Make Kool-Aid," he asked again.

"No, I don't make Kool-Aid," she said, continuing with the recipe without missing a beat.
