He told David Letterman that he was disappointed that the audience did not enjoy the show. He compared his humor to Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and George Carlin.

Morgan came under fire this summer for exclaiming during a show that he would kill his son if he were gay and that homosexuality is something children learn.

"At the end of the day, I'm a comedian," he said. "I try to use my gift that God gave me to help the world, to heal the world, not to hurt anyone. I was hurt by it because people came to the show and were bummed out, so I apologize to those folks that came and was bummed out."

He went on to explain that he loves his son, saying, "I just think it was a misunderstanding, I was up there working โ€ฆ But I came up under the old regime; sometimes I have to get to it. And I guess that became a big misunderstanding."

His comments are confusing, especially after his public relations apology tour. Maybe sensitivity training is in order so he will know the difference between humor and hate speech.
