Youโd think in 2024, certain major entities confusing Black celebrities for one another wouldnโt be a thingโbut sadly here we are. On Saturday night during a UFC 306 broadcast, the camera panned in on several prominent folks in the audience at the โNocheโ event including reality TV stars, athletes and executives.

The broadcast wrongly identified a man as rapper Kendrick Lamar when he was, in fact, boxer Terence โBudโ Crawford. Of course, the moment went viral on social media with X users like @dillondanis joking: โSomeone at UFC is getting fired.โ Even Crawford, who was mentioned in Lamarโs song โeuphoria,โ pointed out how ridiculous the mix up was.
Crawford posted on his Instagram Story with a clip of the UFC mistake shortly after with the quote โDamn Kendrick.โ He also made sure Lamarโs โeuphoriaโ was playing in the background.
UFC CEO (and proud Trumper) Dana White commented on the broadcastโs debacle, but only made it worse.
โI donโt know who the hell did that,โ White said during an interview after the event. โThat was pretty bad. He did kind of look like Kendrick Lamar, though. Letโs not f*** around. He kind of did look like Kendrick Lamar...so when I say that we had a flawless production tonight, I take that back. There was the one.โ
Noche UFC 360 technically made history by becoming the first-ever combat sports event to be held in The Sphere in Las Vegas. Sadly, it will probably become more known for this moment instead.
In addition to not being Kendrick Lamar, Crawford is currently the WBA and WBO light middleweight champion after defeating Israil Madrimov last month. He is scheduled to fight Sebastian Fundora next for WBOโs light middleweight title.
