It feels as if no one is safe in Trump's America. Burglars reportedly vandalized the home of New York Giants fullback Nikita Whitlock on Tuesday, scrawling racist graffiti that included a swastika, the letters "KKK" and the phrase "Go back to Africa" on the walls of his family's Bergen County, N.J., apartment.
Whitlock told WCBS-TV that jewelry and video game systems were stolen during this robbery, which is the second time the family's home has been burglarized.
"It just re-establishes that no matter where you are, no matter who you are, this can happen to you," Whitlock told the news station. Whitlock is currently serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances, ESPN reports.
Whitlock, 25, told WCBS-TV that he and his wife and two young children were only out of the home a few hours when the break-in occurred. He believes that the robbers broke into the home through a small window.
"It's very disgusting, actually. It's very disheartening," Whitlock's wife, Ashley, said. "You hear about things like this that do happen, but you never think, 'Oh, this is going to happen to me.’"
"It's about to be 2017," Nikita Whitlock added. "Oppression, racism, hatred, violence, there's no need for that."
