Tinkerbell, the Clap and Exercise

Whether you believe in fairies or not, wouldnโ€™t it be cool if, when we were starting to fade, a bunch of folks would come to our rescue and make sure we came back to life?

No, Iโ€™m not talking about death. Iโ€™m talking about exercise.

A full week has passed, and I didnโ€™t make it to the gym once. I can come up with excuses, but thatโ€™s all theyโ€™d be. Except for the all-nighter, I could have made it for a morning workout, but Iโ€™m off my game this week, and could use some words of encouragement to get back to the gym.

Weโ€™re all different, of course, so weโ€™re motivated by different things. For me, itโ€™s usually great news, or something that makes me really happy and energetic. Iโ€™m trying to be enthusiastic about my daughterโ€™s high school graduation next weekend, but the truth is I donโ€™t make a big deal out of it. College graduation, now thatโ€™s something to cheer about. Iโ€™m happy for her, but more focused on what courses sheโ€™ll be taking in the fall.

Hmmm. Graduation would be a great excuse to buy a new outfit, maybe a linen dress. Still canโ€™t go sleeveless, but maybe I can find a nice, white, linen dress and not end up looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters.

The unofficial rule book states that cows arenโ€™t supposed to wear white. Not supposed to wear horizontal stripes, either.ย  Iโ€™ve never bought into the argument that certain colors can make one appear heavier or thinner. I do believe how one wears said clothes makes all the difference in the world.

Frankly, if you look uncomfortable, Iโ€™ll be uncomfortable looking at you. And that happens a lot โ€“ people wearing things they have no business wearing, especially super-heavy women. Just go to the mall on any given weekend. The horror.

Listen, ladies: Just because itโ€™s in the store doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s OK to buy it.

But Iโ€™m getting off the exercise-motivation thing, which has been an issue this week. With this, I could use some advice. Itโ€™s likely Iโ€™m just feeling a little sluggish, a little drained, and just need a burst of energy to get me back on track.

Just share some advice. No clapping necessary.
