David Wilson, a registered sex offender who served four years in prison for a previous rape of a teen, claimed that he and the girl were in a โ€œrelationship.โ€ The news station notes that the child was the daughter of an ex-girlfriend and had sex with Wilson multiple times. She told investigators that she became pregnant and tested positive for HIV and herpes after they had unprotected sex.

"I have never denied about us having a relationship," Wilson said in court. "I am not sorry we were together, no; I am sorry the HIV came into the situation."

According to KHOU, the toddler, his niece, was living in the same residence as Wilson when she was tested for STDs after a growth was seen on her genitals. (She required reconstructive surgery because of infection.) Doctors concluded that the child, who tested HIV-positive, had been sexually assaulted. After all members of the house were tested for STDs, it was determined that the HIV-positive Wilson had assaulted the toddler. The toddler also tested positive for chlamydia and herpes, according to 6ABC.

Wilson, who was employed at a fast food restaurant in Houston, reportedly admitted on the stand that he has had sexual relationships with a number of girls and young women who might also be at risk.
