It appeared on Twitter and reportedly recounts the stories of several Somali-Americans from Minnesota who journeyed to East Africa to fight alongside al-Shabab.

The nearly hour-long video points to Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore to make the case that racism is widespread in the United States. It also includes a clip of Trump calling for a ban on Muslims entering the country, following the terrorist shooting in San Bernardino, Calif.

The video quotes Malcolm X during the civil rights movement, as well as Anwar al-Awlaki, a Yemeni-American cleric killed by a U.S. drone strike, who predicted that America would turn against its Muslim population. It urges blacks and Muslims in America to fight back by joining the jihad.

Al-Shabab is the group responsible for storming the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya and killing 67 people in that attack. Theย al-Qaida affiliate wants to impose a strict form of Islam in Somalia and has pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Trumpโ€™s campaign has not responded so far to media requests for comments. Following the Democratic debate in December, Trump called Hillary Clinton a โ€œliarโ€ for saying ISIS is using his anti-Muslim rhetoric as a recruitment tool.

The Obama administration has also warned that Islamic extremists would exploit anti-Muslim comments and hate crimes targeting Muslims to recruit followers. ย ย ย

โ€œWeโ€™re at war with terrorists. Weโ€™re not at war with Islam,โ€ said Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser in the Obama administration.
