A statue of Ahmenhotep III, a pharaoh who ruled nearly 3,400 years ago, was discovered at the site of a temple in Luxor, Egypt. According to news reports, archaeologists in Egypt uncovered a limestone statue of King Tut's grandfather. The statue of Ahmenhotep III is four feet tall and three feet wide. It shows the pharaoh on a throne, wearing Egypt's double crown, next to the Theban god Amun. The expert craftmanship of the statue makes it one of the "best new finds," which is one of the reasons it is being celebrated. Cheers!
