Professional clown and commentator Stephen A. Smith has found the gaul to address Vice President Kamala Harris and share his thoughts on her lack of televised interviews or press conferences. Smith has been known for saying ridiculous things and standing on his soapbox—and his latest remarks are no different.

“We’ve had one week, two weeks, three weeks and one day since Joe Biden stepped aside. The only damn place we’ve seen Kamala Harris is at pep rallies. What’s up? Somebody gotta say something and it can’t just be the conservatives. Right is right,” Smith said on his podcast this week. His words have garnered praise from conservative talking heads like Charlie Kirk.
Smith’s sentiments echo that of Charlamagne Tha God, who also stated that Harris has “super main character energy” but needs to engage the media the way that her opponent Donald Trump has.
“[Trump’s] always calling into conservative talk radio, which is one of my biggest issues with the Democratic Party,” Charlamagne stated in an interview with ABC News on Sunday (August 11). “They don’t use the media that supports them the way the right uses the media that supports them.”
Smith wholeheartedly agrees with that view, though he wrongly accused Harris of “hiding.” “I’m talking to my sister here. Come on now. You’re running for the presidency of The United States of America,” Smith continued. “You got my vote. You’re running for the presidency of the United States of America.
“What you hiding for? And I mean hiding in plain sight. Somebody gotta say it. Somebody gotta say it...“Now, you can’t be running for the presidency of the United States. Not one single press conference...That’s not fair.”
Though Charlamagne and Smith may have a point, they also have zero experience in running a presidential campaign. Their approach is to pressure Harris into doing what they want. Harris will surely do a sit down interview—but on her own accord.
