The announcement came from Fox on Monday morning. According to Variety, Brazile will provide the โ€œnewsโ€ network with political analysis across several Fox platforms, including Fox News Channel and Fox Business Networkโ€™s programs.

Brazile, a former CNN contributor, left Foxโ€™s rival in 2016 amid allegations that she leaked questions from a Democratic town hall to Hillary Clintonโ€™s campaign. The former Secretary of State debated Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders at the event.

In a written statement released today, the veteran Democratic strategist said she knew โ€œmy friends in the progressive movementโ€ would criticize her for being on the conservative cable news network, which has functionally operated as a state TV network during the Donald Trump presidency.

โ€œMy response is that, if weโ€™ve learned anything from the 2016 election, it is that we canโ€™t have a country where we donโ€™t talk to those who disagree with our political views,โ€ Brazile said. โ€œThereโ€™s an audience on Fox News that doesnโ€™t hear enough from Democrats. We have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our โ€˜safe spacesโ€™ where we simply agree with each other. For there is no safety in self-limiting numbers.โ€

Brazile offered that she wasnโ€™t going to pull any punches on the network.

โ€œIโ€™m going to do what I always do: and dish it out straight, exactly as I see it, with just as much New Orleans hot sauce as folks expect,โ€ she said.

An even spicier idea may be to not yourself up as a prop for a news organization that has no real, sustained interest in providing a counter-narrative to Trumpโ€™s propaganda, but what do I know? Iโ€™m not the strategist here.

Brazile will make her debut this afternoon on The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino at 2 p.m. EST.
