The woman has three kids; is the mastermind, executive producer or showrunner behind three hit shows on ABC (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder); and just sold another show to ABC, according to the Hollywood Reporter.ย

The show is a medical drama based out of Baghdad and is being written by Zoanne Clackโ€”a black woman who is one of the producers of Grey's Anatomy.ย

This medical drama will join three other ShondaLand shows that have also been sold to ABC and are currently in development: an untitled drama about nuns; Splitsville, a divorce comedy; and a drama about a fradulent investigator called The Catch.ย Count 'em: That's three shows on the air and four in development.ย

The Huffington Post explained the signficance behind this: Not only is it badass because Rhimes is an African-American woman in a sea of white male faces in the TV-executive ranks, but the only other multideal TV producers who have had multiple shows on the air at the same time were white men who got their start more than two decades ago. Meanwhile, Rhimes' first show, Grey's Anatomy, debuted in 2005.ย

Bow down to the woman who is sitting pretty at the No. 1 spot this year on The Root 100โ€”our annual ranking of the 100 most influential African Americans.ย
