After a very public, very messy years-spanning feud, MoโNique and director Lee Daniels have finally reunited. Fortunately for fans of the 2009 film โPrecious,โ the reunion will take place on-screen.

MoโNique costars in the spooky Daniels film โThe Deliverance,โ set to hit Netflix later this year. Inspired by a โtrue storyโ the filmโs synopsis reads: โAfter moving into a mysterious house, a struggling mother must face down her demons in order to save her childrenโs souls.โ

As The Root previously reported, Daniels and Lee finally reconciled their differences in 2022, 13 years after it began. If you remember, the fued stemmed from the comedianโs decision not to participate in the โPreciousโ awards campaign as it meant her spending less time with her family.
While MoโNique went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, she publicly accused the filmโs producers (Daniels, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry) of blackballing her.
In 2022, Daniels joined MoโNique on stage at her โMoโNique and Friends: April Fools Day with The Queen of Comedyโ show on Staten Island, saying to her, โI am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did.โ
Daniels opened up to Essence this week about working with MoโNique once again, calling their reconciliation, โUnreal, unbelievable, magical feeling, a joy, all of it. It was perfect.โ
โListen, we picked right up,โ he told the outlet. โIt was like the 15 years of our argument hadnโt even happened. We just stepped right back into the groove of her jumping into character, and she is a tour de force. The two of us together are crazy. We make magic.โ
