Savage x Fenty Can Handle the Curves (and Run All the Lights) in Their Latest Campaign

Telfar is dropping more bags on Aug. 4; Marcus Samuelsson is curating food for the Met Gala; and Rih Gives Us Eau de Fenty so we can smell like her.

The Caramel Curves, an all-Black womenโ€™s motorcycle crew from New Orleans, are used to turning heads and taking names through the city as they cruise around each Sunday. Their over-the-top and vibrant fashion gives them a distinct and noticeable edge, sporting only the brightest clothingโ€”think highlighter yellow and neon greenโ€”rhinestones everywhere, only wearing heels and helmets with fuchsia mohawks. All of this to say, the glitz and glamour of these badass ladies easily caught Rihannaโ€™s eye.

The campaign was shot all around New Orleans by Shaniqwa Jarvis and features the ladies in the newest dropโ€”embroidered bra and underwear sets, gloves, curve-hugging bodysuits and fishnets. They posed alongside and next to their prized motorcycles and showcased the raw power and confidence that comes from being in that type of control.

One thing that is clearly a theme in both the photos and the Caramel Curvesโ€™ day-to-day lives is the heels. No matter the time, day or outfit, these women can be seen rocking their heelsโ€”save for long rides ranging up to 100 miles. โ€œI have been wearing heels and thank the Lord, I never fell.โ€

Tierra โ€œChoosyโ€ Thomas reflects on their photoshoot while riding through the city saying it was โ€œdefinitely a normal Curve day,โ€ as they were seen in thongs atop their bikes, yet each woman felt comfortable and taken care of, understanding that a lot of thought was put into โ€œmaking it for plus-sized women,โ€ according to British Vogue.

On top of the recent drop and lingerie shoot, Rih announced her new perfume โ€œEau De Fentyโ€ would drop on August 10. Per Vogue, the show โ€œliterally cannot go onโ€ until Rihanna has applied her perfumeโ€”having a deep connection with the beauty product and her motherโ€™s work in the fragrance industry.

The scent is gender-neutral, held within a perfect amber-colored bottle and can fit right in the palm of your hand. The bottle is stylistically resemblant to an antique perfume bottle and caps at $120 per bottle.

Plant-Based at the Met

The Met Gala, which usually takes place the first Monday in May, will be hosted on Sept. 13 and features an entirely plant-based meal. James Beard award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson and Bon Appรฉtit hand-picked 10 up-and-coming chefs, restaurant owners and cookbook authors to curate the meal according to Vogue. The Gala will be a much smaller endeavor than in previous years and will focus on the importance of American influence in fashion. This yearโ€™s costume institute titled, โ€œIn America: A Lexicon of Fashionโ€ serves as the main inspiration for the chefโ€™s dishes, each of which will focus on their โ€œinterpretation of regional American cuisine.โ€

After facing the difficulties of the last year-and-a-half and emerging on the other side, Samuelsson reflects that โ€œthe gala [is] an incomparable opportunity for emerging talent to elevate their careers and share their perspectives and craft.โ€

Theophilio x Swim

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient Edvin Thompson recently debuted his first swimwear collection during Miami Swim Week, which will now be available for purchase beginning in mid-August. Thompsonโ€™s brand, Theophilio, is well known for its most recent collaboration with Black Fashion Fair and their โ€œFamily Reunionโ€ collection. The swimwear line was inspired by the sunrises and sunsets in Jamaica. The line consists of strappy bikinis, textured coverups and beaded headwear. โ€œThe vibrant colors constantly reminded me of how alive I was. The rivers and oceans aided many juvenile activities. I want to hold on to that image with this swim collection,โ€ Thompson tells WWD. The collection starts at $90 and goes up to $225.

Set Your Alarm for 8:59 a.mโ€ฆA New Telfar Drop Is Coming

After blowing us all away with his Liberian Olympic team uniforms, Telfar Clemens dropped a bombshell on us this morning. He announced that at 9 a.m. ET on Aug. 4, there will be a new bag drop. โ€œTHIS IS A BIG RESTOCK [up-arrow emoji] CHANCES OF COPING [up-arrow emoji]โ€ Telfar writes on the brandโ€™s Instagram video. The video takes place in an airplane hanger as a gentleman steps out of the car and into a private plane, his black Telfar bag being gently lifted into the seat next to him.

This new drop is very exciting considering Telfar announced some of the designs worn by the Liberian Olympic team would be made available for public consumption later this year. During the Olympic Games opening ceremony, the Liberian team debuted Telfarโ€™s designs in what has become the first Telfar runway show since before the pandemic.

YSL Perfumeโ€ฆBut Make It Extreme

Zoรซ Kravitz and YSL are a match made in heaven. Now as the brand the โ€œcult favoriteโ€ Black Opium perfume is getting an extreme makeover. The new release of โ€œBlack Opium Extreme Eau de Parfumโ€ takes the concept and all of the things fans love about the original scent and amps it up, making it even bolder and more enjoyable. Kravitz tells Elle that the scent is โ€œslightly more earthy and masculine, which I think to me is even sexier.โ€

The scent is now available at all YSL online stories as well as retailersโ€ฆand with one spritz of this, โ€œyou, too, can smell like Catwoman.โ€
