Sage Steele Wishes Al Sharpton Would ‘Go Away’ But Ironically That’s How Everyone Feels About Her

The former ESPN host went after Sharpton regarding his comments about Claudine Gay.

Former ESPN host Sage Steele is running her ignorant mouth againโ€”only this time itโ€™s about the legendary civil rights leader Al Sharpton. Following the shocking resignation of Harvard Universityโ€™s first Black president, Claudine Gay, Sharpton sounded off via X/Twitter.

โ€œPresident Gayโ€™s resignation is about more than a person or a single incident. This is an attack on every Black woman in this country whoโ€™s put a crack in the glass ceiling,โ€ Sharpton wrote.

โ€œItโ€™s an assault on the health, strength and future of diversity, equity and inclusionโ€”at a time when Corporate America is trying to back out of billions of dollars in commitments.โ€

Of course, Steele took to Fox News to lament over Sharptonโ€™s commentary. โ€œI just wish he would go away,โ€ Steele told host Jesse Watters, in reference to the prominent public figure.

โ€œAlmost every time Al Sharpton speaks, I get angry because Al Sharpton pretends that he knows what every single person of color in this country thinks, believes how they should live, how they should act, how they should vote.โ€

Gay announced her resignation on Tuesday, but will remain on the faculty at Harvard. Racism and the conservative attack on diversity and true institutional change are to blameโ€”yet Steele predictably sees things differently.

It wasnโ€™t long before she weirdly invoked the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. โ€œRemember Martin Luther King, Mr. Sharpton?โ€ Steele continued. โ€œI think you do judge me by the content of my character, not the color of my skin. What happened with Claudine Gay? There are some character issues, which is why she was forced to step down.โ€

Even though itโ€™s unclear what the hell sheโ€™s even talking about, she couldnโ€™t help to elaborate on the nonsense. โ€œAny racist attack should be denounced,โ€ Steele said. โ€œWhat about Claudine Gay herself when she was asked how many times by [Rep.] Elise Stefanik, โ€˜Is it wrong? Do you denounce any antisemitic comments, any about the genocide of Jewish students on your campus?โ€™ And she couldnโ€™t even answer that. Clearly, she refused to answer it.โ€

Steele loves to engage in revisionist history and propping up white supremacist valuesโ€”which is obvious when youโ€™re a regular on Fox News. Ironically, she wants Sharpton to disappear when thatโ€™s exactly how we feel about her.
