The Bajan beauty appears on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s July/August issue adorned with a beautiful, black Arabian ensemble. She dons a mesh veil, Cartier jewels and white floral embellishments on her shoulders and tops off the look with fierce red nails and matching lips (possibly RiRi Woo?).

Modest attire for women in Middle Eastern counties isn’t uncommon, but for Rihanna it is. RiRi is often found scantily clad in bikinis or outfits that display body parts that don’t see daylight on most people (see her Lui cover earlier this year or this dress made of mesh and Swarovski crystals). Rihanna expressed on Twitter how happy she is with the Harper’s results.

She has already proved that she’s a fashion icon, as attested to by the CDFA Fashion Awards, but this could mean the 26-year-old artist is straying away from risqué for a different kind of sexy. That would be a smart move, considering that she’s the lead voice in DreamWorks’ upcoming children’s animation film, Happy Smekday!

Fans don’t seem to mind.
