โ€œThis is not Nayla,โ€ her mother, La Creis Kidd, told CBS New Yorkย Friday as she handed out fliers with other family members near the Ivy League school in New York City.

Nayla Kidd was last seen leaving Columbiaโ€™s campus in Manhattanโ€™s Morningside Heights neighborhood. She missed finals, which began later the day she went missing, something her mother said she would never do.

โ€œShe prides herself on doing her very best in school,โ€ her mother, a professor at the University of Louisville, told the news station. โ€œFor her to be missing right now is very heart-wrenching.โ€

Nayla Kidd, a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, taught a popular belly dancing class at the school and was attending Columbia on a full scholarship.
