Ray Jโreal name William Ray Norwood Jr.โ appeared on โPiers Morgan Uncensoredโ to talk about why he believes the case against Diddy is starting to get outrageous. The disgraced music mogul is fighting for his life against racketeering and human trafficking charges, but according to Ray J, weโre starting to lose the plot.
โI think itโs kind of becoming a circus, and with all the allegations, and now with everybody explaining whatโs happening in the bedroom... It just sounds crazier and crazier and freakier and weirder,โ Ray J began. The singer even set his sights on Combsโ ex-girlfriend Cassandra โCassieโ Ventura, who alleged Diddy blew up rapper Kid Cudiโs car as a scare tactic.
โWith Kid Cudi going on and saying everything that happened, but then ended up saying, โCassie played both of usโ... Where are we trying to go?โ According to Ray J, thereโs not enough evidence to find Diddy guilty of his current charges. โItโs entertaining, for sure... but at the end of it all, itโs like, โThis is what Diddy is being charged for, and this is what he possibly might serve a lot of jail time for?โ I donโt understand it,โ he continued.
To him, Diddyโs case has become about optics and not the real evidence to support to governmentโs racketeering case against him. The public was horrified to hear how Combs allegedly raped and repeatedly beat Cassie and how he alleged conspired to kill Kid Cudiโ including by kidnapping his own assistantโ but Ray J and other Combsโ supporters argue that still doesnโt connect him to a criminal enterprise. And in order for Combs to be found guilty, thatโs exactly what prosecutors need to prove.
Although Ray J has not been named in connection with Diddyโs criminal case, he maintains that the two businessmen have a close relationship. In fact, Ray J told Morgan he sees the Bad Boy founder as a mentor. โThis is word to my mom and kids, heโs always inspired me to be great,โ Ray J told Morgan.
In the end, Ray J said he has faith that Diddy will walk away with his freedom. โI honestly think that Diddy will get out... I think they made their point. Whatever they were trying to make, your point is made,โ he continued. โNow let Diddy out. Free Diddy!โ
Ray J is the latest entertainer to speak out in favor of the โComing Homeโ rapper. He joins folks like Kanye West, Amber Rose and Boosie Badazzโ all of whom have had their own share of controversies over the years.
