Poor Drake: Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ is Now a Video Game

The browser based game is currently free to play online.

It looks like Drakeโ€™s year just continues to get worse. Richie Branson, who is known for work on the popular video game โ€œFortnite,โ€ has now developed โ€œNot Like Us: The Gameโ€ based on Kendrick Lamarโ€™s popular diss track.

The game is 8-bit, browser-based and free to play. In addition, Branson has made his Cash App and Venmo information available for anyone who wants to support.

The game draws inspiration from the Lamarโ€™s music video for โ€œNot Like Usโ€ โ€” specifically, the part in which Lamar repeatedly hits an owl piรฑata and raps: โ€œCertified Loverboy, certified pedophile/Wop Wop Wop Wop Wop/Dot f*ck โ€˜em up/Wop Wop Wop Wop Wop/Imma do my stuff.โ€

The objective is for the player to hit as many owls as they can before time runs out.

โ€œNot Like Us: The Gameโ€ is soundtracked by a chiptune version of Mustardโ€™s โ€œNot Like Usโ€ beat. Every time the player hits an owl, the screen shows a โ€œWOP!โ€ The song debuted at No. 1 in May for a week and spent the next eight weeks in the Top 10.

This week, โ€œNot Like Usโ€ managed to get Lamar his first multi-week Hot 100 No. 1 as a solo artist. The song has received 54 million streams and 40 million radio airplay audience impressions.

Last month, the โ€œHumbleโ€ rapper performed the song six times at his โ€œThe Pop Outโ€ concert in Los Angeles which was streamed on Amazon Prime. During his set, several rappersโ€”including Dr. Dre, Jay Rock, YG, Tyler the Creator, Schoolboy Q and moreโ€”came out to show love.

In addition to being the laughing stock of the music industry, Drake is also currently dealing with his Toronto mansion being flooded from torrential rain. This too shall pass, Drizzy.
