Some 791 guns were collected over a gun-buyback program in Los Angeles over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles Times. Returns to the program included "364 handguns, 144 shotguns, 237 rifles, 42 assault-style weapons"; four of the firearms submitted didn't fit into a specific category.

A 1911 .45-caliber pistol owned by Sammy Davis Jr. was one of the guns returned. It is believed to have cost around $350 at the time of purchase. The buyback program is anonymous, and those who returned weapons—no questioned asked—were given Ralphs supermarket gift cards.
Since 2009, the gun-buyback program has collected more than 15,000 weapons, the Times reports.
