New York Times columnist Charles Blow issued an apology Friday for a controversial tweet about former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, according to the Huffington Post.

Blow tweeted during the Wednesday GOP debate in Arizona, "Let me just tell you this Mitt 'Muddle Mouth': I'm a single parent and my kids are *amazing*! Stick that in your magic underwear #CNNdebate."
People of the Mormon faith are known to wear a temple undergarment, which is a type of underwear, underneath their clothing as a symbolic reminder of their faith. When Romney was asked about Blow's comment, he said he was "surprised" but not shocked by the "media bias."
Before it could turn into a Roland Martin moment for the Times columnist, Blow apologized via Twitter for his comments, saying, "Btw, the comment I made about Mormonism during Wed.'s debate was inappropriate, and I regret it. I'm willing to admit that with no caveats."
I commend Blow on the immediate apology but hope he thinks twice before pressing "send" next time.
