During a senate debate in Indiana on Tuesday, Republican candidate Robert Mourdock said, "I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen." Naturally, some agreed with him and some disagreed but for those who oppose this idea, their response was very emotional. One of those dissenters wasย MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry who bared witness to her sexual assault during her show on Saturday by reading an open letter to Mourdock. In her segment, Harris-Perry said that as a survivor of sexual assault, she battles triggers from her attack every day and that judgement is not something survivors should have to endure after their violent experience, not from Mourdock or anyone else.
