Those are reportedly the fighting words Edward Holley, 60, told police when he was arrested and taken into custody Wednesday from an Orlando, Fla., home after allegedly dousing his neighbor Darryl Blacknell with a pan of scalding grits and grease, reports MyNews13.
According to the police report, Blacknell was sitting on Holley’s porch playing poker with Holley’s cousin at the time of the scorching. He suffered second- and third-degree burns on 30 percent of his body, MyNews13 reports.
Holley’s cousin also suffered burns on his arm, but managed to drive himself to the hospital, according to a witness, MyNews13 reported.
A neighbor said the incident stemmed from an ongoing contentious relationship between the two men, which resulted in an altercation the night before the grit-flinging incident, according to the New York Daily News.
Blacknell will have to undergo painful cleanings and surgeries, which will require an extended stay at Orlando Regional Hospital. He says he will seek prosecution, MyNews13 reports.
Holley was placed under arrest, and during transport, allegedly kept repeating that the incident was Blacknell’s fault because he was “following him,” stated a deputy’s report, according to the New York Daily News.
Holley has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, the New York Daily News reports.
