In the years since his conviction of a fake hate crime, Jussie Smollettโs career has taken a major downturn. As previously reported by The Root, back in 2019, Smollett reported that heโd been assaulted by white men who yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him and hung a noose around his neck. Daniels is currently promoting his new horror thriller โThe Deliverance,โ which premieres Aug. 30 on Netflix and stars Andra Day, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and MoโNique.
