MEND, who declared all out war on Nigeria's army after last month's naval attack on fighters in the delta region, said in a statement:

"As forewarned, a major 'cordon and search' operation by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta commenced today โ€ฆ with devastating effects on the heavily fortified Chevron Otunana flow station in Delta stateโ€ฆCode named 'Hurricane Piper Alpha', the objective is to smoke out war criminals of the northern Nigerian armed forces who have taken refuge in oil installations and give them instant jungle justice."

Hm. THE BUZZ wonders what the US response will be. We don't exactly play about our oil and the lives of Africans are not exactly something we care about (since we're, among other things, afraid of China getting wind of it). If this action is seen as a "terroristic threat" in which a US interest needs protectionโ€ฆoh boy. If we sniped three dudes just to get a boat captain of no particular importance back, what will we do for Chevron?
