Though Juliana Margulies had no problem saying despicably racist comments with her chest on a peculiar podcast interview, the actress has predictably tried to walk back what she said.

Her hateful remarks targeted the Black and LGBTQ folks on The Back Room with Andy Ostroy podcast. In a statement to Deadline, Margulies claims she was โhorrifiedโ that her bigoted comments offended those vulnerable communities.
โI am horrified by the fact that statements I made on a recent podcast offended the Black and LGBTQIA+ communities, communities I truly love and respect. I want to be 100% clear: Racism, homophobia, sexism, or any prejudice against anyoneโs personal beliefs or identity are abhorrent to me, full stop. Throughout my career I have worked tirelessly to combat hate of all kind, end antisemitism, speak out against terrorist groups like Hamas, and forge a united front against discrimination. I did not intend for my words to sow further division, for which I am sincerely apologetic.โ
The clip, which made the rounds on social media last week, shows Margulies going on a vile and racist tangent about how โThe Blacksโ have been brainwashed to hate Jews in reference to the Israel-Hamas War.
After asserting that a โBlack lesbian clubโ at Columbia University screened a film and โput signs up that said, โNo Jews allowed,โ she talked about how unacceptable it was because Black people apparently need to know our place.
โAs someone who plays a lesbian journalist on The Morning Show, I am more offended by it as a lesbian than I am as a Jew,โ she remarked. โBecause I wanna say to them, โYou fuckng idiots. You donโt exist. Youโre even lower than the Jews. A. Youโre Black, and B. Youโre gay and youโre turning your back against the people who support you?โ Because Jews, they rally around everybody.โ
She also said that if LGBTQ people went to an Islamic country, they โwill be the first people beheaded and their heads played with like a soccer ball, like a soccer ball on the field. And thatโs who theyโre supporting? Terrorists who donโt want women to have their rights? LGBTQ people get executed.โ
If you listen to the clip, her delivery and fervor show that she passionately believes every disgusting word that she was saying. Margulies also implied that her โsupportโ of the Black Lives Matter movement proves that we owe her one.
โIโm the first person to march [for] Black Lives Matter. When that happened to George Floyd, I put a black screen on my Instagram. Like, I ran to support my Black brothers and sisters.โ
Margulies sadly believes that her armchair activism actually amounted to supporting Black lives. However, all that it meant is that she wanted to check a box for โsupportingโ us and use it as leverage whenever it proved convenient for her.
To be clear, Margulies is still undeniably racist but white womanhood will protect her from having any real repercussions.
