“Good Times” is one of the most influential TV series of all time. A big part of its enduring legacy comes from John Amos’ brilliant portrayal of working class husband and father James Evans. Though he found himself constantly fighting against racism and classism, his commitment to helping his family never wavered. Amos’ range was on full display as James. He effortlessly moved between physical comedy, emotional dramatic moments and hilarious one liners. James Dies
