During the reunion, emotions were high as Whitfield and Hassan recalled the night chaos ensued during their trip to Puerto Rico. All the cast mates got to share their peace, but what surprised everyone during the reunion was when Hassan walked over to Whitfield sitting on the opposite couch, hugged her, and forgave her.
Unlike Hassan, the other cast members werenโt so quick to forgive Whitfield after their Puerto Rico trip led to a falling out between Whitfield and practically everybody else. Leading everyone to wonder if sheโll return next season.
Bombshell Season Finale Explained
The Root previously reported on all the drama that unfolded during a group trip to Puerto Rico. Hassan first claimed Whitfield โmayโ have slept with an executive to secure her spot on the show. But everything ramped up a notch when Whitfield later told the other housewives she was especially hurt by Hassanโs accusation because she previously confided in Hassan about being sexually assaulted.
Most of the cast mates were on Whitfieldโs side until word got back to Hassan about Whitfieldโs confession to the women. Then, it became clear her story wasnโt adding up. Hassan was even sent reeling, crying and throwing up over the entire situation. In the end, it was revealed that Whitfield never had the phone conversation she claimed to have with Hassan, and with that, all the women began turning their backs on her.
Fan Reactions
Online, fans of RHONY expressed their frustration with the Whitfield/Hassan drama. @emma_oyomba tweeted โBrynn having SIX people explaining to her the severity of her actions & also telling her that the way she recalls things happening did in fact not happen that way and her STILL refusing to just acknowledge it and apologize shows me sheโs is living in a state of delusion.โ
Another user, @jennS012, agreed calling Whitfield โcalculating and manipulative.โ
In the end, Hassan and Whitfield seemingly made up. But just because Hassan forgave her for lying, that doesnโt mean the rest of the Bravo community does. X user @graciejones730 said โI donโt care if Ubah has forgiven Brynn. I still donโt want her back next season.โ
Many fans remember Whitfieldโs recent interview with Rolling Stone and say sheโs completely changed her tune from the reunion. Whitfield gave โan emotional apology yet she had a Rolling Stones article locked and loaded still doubling down on her heinous actions,โ said @glisteninnn on X.
Brynnโs Rolling Stone Interview
In the interview, the reality TV star doubled down on feeling ostracized by the other women while filming. โThat was shocking,โ Whitfield said. โYouโre telling me that in the three minutes from when Iโm called horrible names [by Hassan] and Iโm obviously upset that I somehow devised a plan?โ
She continued saying sheโs still confused by everyoneโs sudden change in behavior. โI look back, Iโve scanned every text, Iโve checked every conversation, and I have no idea.โ The interview happened after the reunion was filmed but before the episodes aired. โAfter the reunion, I personally felt like โ are we in a position where everything is fixed and perfect? No, not remotely,โ Whitfield admitted. โBut at least weโre now, maybe hopefully at step one.โ
