"The acquittal of the murderer of the teenage African American once again clearly demonstrated the unwritten, but systematic racial discrimination against racial, religious, and ethnic minorities in the U.S. society," Iranian Foreign Ministryย spokesmanย Seyed Abbas Araqchiย said, in theย nation's state-owned Fars News Agency.

"The courtย ruling has also seriously put under question the fairness of the judicial process in the United States," he said.

The Washington Free Beacon cited the spokesman as saying America should have conducted the trial in a more "accurate and fair" way. Mr. Zimmerman was acquitted in the February 2012 shooting death of 17-year-oldย Trayvon Martinย last Saturday.
