Incognito was suspended last Sunday for conduct detrimental to the team, after Martin complained and presented evidence, including threatening voice mails and texts. A source told ESPN that Incognito reportedly felt a combination of feeling totally blindsided by the charges and "a bit betrayed,"ย the New York Post reports.

"He's shocked," the source told ESPN, according to the Post. "He canโ€™t believe this happened and thinks it probably could have been avoided."

Earlier this week, social media users slammed Incognito when news broke that he repeatedly bullied Martin at the request of his coaches, in an effort to "toughen" him up. An anonymous Dolphins teammate defended Incognito, calling him an "honorary black man," which incensed some members of black Twitter.
