Well, it seems like Black womenโs feelings about Elba are directly correlated to when they first saw him. Basically, my completely unscientific opinion tells me that the majority of the women who are gaga over him first saw him as Stringer Bell, while the majority of the women who donโt see what the big deal is first saw him in โObsessedโ or โSometimes in Aprilโ or โDaddyโs Little Girlsโ โ roles where heโs nowhere near as cool as he was on โThe Wire.โ

While thinking about how Elbaโs hold over Black womenโs ovaries is directly connected to him being placed in a position that enabled him to be cool, I couldnโt help but also think about how it applies to our dating and relationships lives. More specifically, how we put a premium on a manโs swagger and the effect it has on women even though his โcoolnessโ actually matters much more than that.
