Amid all the Diddy madness, where, exactly, is Fonzworth Bentley? The internet has some questions for Diddy’s former assistant in light of the rapper’s recent high-profile arrest and legal woes.

Bentley — whose real name is Derek Watkins — has been a topic of conversation on social media, leading many to wonder where he is or what he has to say as Diddy’s life implodes. Curiously, he has not posted on social media since April of this year, as one person pointed out on X, formerly known as Twitter. Even his last posts on Instagram are nothing of major note, consisting mostly of memes, quotes, and videos of old performances from various artists.

Fans may remember that Bentley was a staple in Diddy’s world, appearing alongside the now-infamous music legend for years. The world knew him as Diddy’s personal valet and assistant both in life and even on camera, as he appeared on Diddy’s reality shows as well like “Making The Band.” His close relationship with Diddy has led people to speculate on TikTok as well; one user questioned where he has been for the last few months and broke down his career to date.
Though Bentley has been relatively quiet, Freddy P, former member of Diddy’s “Da Band,” had a lot to say about him during a recent “The Art of Dialogue” interview.
P said he thinks that Diddy is “gay” and exclusively likes men. “I think everybody around him gay, and I don’t think you get to stay around him unless you’ve proven that either you are with the shit or the shit don’t bother you,” he said.
He said he looks at Bentley differently, knowing what we (allegedly) know about Diddy now. “Now that we know the monster, man, you carried that man’s umbrella,” he explained. “I watched this man disrespect you every chance he got. He talked to you like his b**ch.”
P then backpedaled a bit, insisting that he has a lot of respect for Bentley and won’t badmouth him too badly because he has “kids and shit.”
Fans may remember that Gene Deal, Diddy’s former bodyguard, opened up about Bentley earlier this year, alleging that Bentley’s falling out with Diddy had to do with Bentley getting caught stealing. Check out the clip below.
Regardless of the nature of his relationship with his former boss, it is only natural for fans to wonder where Bentley is amid all of this headline-making news surrounding Diddy. He was in that world for years, and while he perhaps has found peace away from the spotlight, many wonder if he could provide more context or important information about what has become one of the biggest scandals in the history of American entertainment.
