But before you get in a tizzy, yes heโs still in prison. But that doesnโt seem to be stopping him from making good on his promise to not leave his fans lacking in new music from him. In fact, in an Instagram post on his personal page on Wednesday, Lanez teased just that: an all new playlist featuring new music would be coming on Friday. And not only will it be new music, itโll be a โFree Tory playlistโ slated to be updated every week.
โAfter about 20-something to 30-something fuck-ups and mistakes, me and my engineer have finally figure out how to record music over the jail phone and still keep the quality as professional as I had it on the street,โ Lanez can be heard speaking in audio over a graphic of a jail phone in the post. โItโs over. โIโm dropping the all-new Free Tory playlist, itโs gonโ be updated every week, with new music that Iโm recording in prison in real-time. This is the first of its kind and although God has already shown me that this moment is only temporary, it speaks testimony to the fact that no matter where they put me, they canโt lock down my spirit, my ambition, my soul my passion nor my destiny!โ he concluded.
The first single of this playlist, the nearly four-minute-long โWish I Never Met You (Prison Tapes)โ is available to stream now. Though Lanez doesnโt name any names, he makes reference to watching anime in the bed with a person and regretting the fact that this person came and kissed him, thereby starting their connection.
