According to Raw Story, the person responsible for the display agreed to take it down and said that it was not meant to be offensive. The person currently faces no disciplinary action.

Army officials were alerted to the display after a photo was sent to them. The photograph shows three figures, made using black trash bags, hanging from a tree. A fourth figure, which appears to represent a child, is shown placed under the tree, as if to offer help to the hanging effigies.

“Displays of an offensive nature are not reflective of Army values and the family-friendly environment provided for employees and residents of the Fort Campbell community,” said Brendalyn Carpenter, a public affairs representative for Fort Campbell.

Not everyone agrees that the display was offensive. Members of a conservative group, Modern American Revolution, posted on Facebook that the Fort Campbell public affairs office verified that the display was mimicking the movie Sinister.
