Now, the executive producer of this yearโs Grammysย is finally breaking hisย silence about whether or not Censoriโs barely-there dress broke the showโs dress code.
You may not believe it, based on some of the jaw-dropping looks that have appeared on red carpets past โ weโre looking at you, J Loโs low-cut green Versace dress from 2000. But in a recent interview with PEOPLE, Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the 2025 show, described the Grammys dress code as โartistic black-tie,โ but added, โIn the music industry, I guess thatโs up for interpretation.โ
Kapoor went on to confirm that artists performing on stage have to comply with network standards, which โprohibits obscene, indecent and profane content from being broadcast on the radio or TV,โ according to language on the FCC website. But he adds that attendees and nominees have to answer to the Recording Academy, the organization that presents the Grammys for their wardrobe choices.
Although charges havenโt been filed as of this writing, Censoriโs outfit could be considered a violation of Californiaโs law on indecent exposure, which rules against anyone who โintentionally exposes their genitals or naked body in front of someone who could be offended or annoyed.โ
And judging by this X post, Censoriโs dress did both.
