Weโre here to explain it all.
Where did it start?
The feud between the two artists seems to have started over Karreuche Tran, whom they have both dated over the years.
If you recall, Brown and Tran dated on and off for nearly five years from November 2010 to March 2015.
Since then Quavo has also been rumored to have dated Tran on and off since 2017.
This is all the while Quavo and Brown continued to make music together including the songs, โJust For The Night,โ โWhippin,โ and โLeanin.โ
But in recent years, Brown has started to take some shots during his appearances on โCrew League,โ a league where celebrities and their โcrewsโ compete in a basketball tournament. After winning the championship in 2021 and 2022, Brown called out the Atlanta rapper, claiming that he was โscared.โ
At the time, it looked like it was just friendly competition. But now itโs clear that there was real hate between the opposing sides.
Diss tracks
Brown made the beef between the two official by seemingly throwing shots at Quavo on the deluxe version of his 2023 album, โ11:11.โ
On the song, โFreak,โ Brown said, โOkay, now f****n my old b*****s ainโt gonโ make us equal.โ
While it took nearly five months, Quavo responded two weeks ago on his track, โTenderโ where he raps about Brownโs history of domestic violence and his break up with Karreuche Tran.
Brown wasted no time responding to the Atlanta rapper, releasing a diss track of his own titled, โWeakest Link.โ
Although Brown isnโt known as an MC, the shots he took at Quavo were scathing and rapper-worthy. He specifically said that โeverybodyโ wished that he died instead of his uncle and fellow Migos member, Takeoff.
He also mentioned how Quavo was seen on video fighting with his ex-girlfriend, Saweetie, in an elevator.
On Monday, Quavo fired back at the controversial R&B singer on the track, โOver H**s & B*****sโ and called Brown โcrackhead Michael Jacksonโ and continued to bring up his track record of domestic violence.
The cover art for the track shows Quavo choking Brown.
Brown reacted to the track hours later on social media, writing on his Instagram story, โGoogle Raps THAT S**T IS POOOOOOOH.โ
He added, โDamn and I was excited .. that shit donโt even need a response. Takeoff rap better.โ
Saweetie jumps in
On Monday, the โICY GRLโ rapper later exposed a message she received from Quavo the day after the Migos member dropped, โOver H**s & B*****s.โ
On the song, Quavo mentioned his ex-girlfriend by name, rapping, โI can take a model b**h and make a Saweetie, n**a/ Crackhead Michael Jackson, b**h, you better beat it, n**a.โ
This seemed to piss Saweetie off who shared a screenshot of Quavo sending her a DM on Instagram in January. In the caption she wrote, โhopefully the model he turns into me replies.โ
