His goal is $1.25 million, and incentives for donations include the chance to be an extra in the film (if you pledge $1,000 or more) or credited as an associate producer in the film (for those who pledge $5,000 or more). But as Shadow and Act reports, the campaign is light on details.

What's interesting is that, on the project's Kickstarter page, he doesn't say much about the project. He doesn't even give a title, nor tell us what it's about, other than that if we love what he's done before, and believe in him and his abilities as a filmmaker, knowing that he won't disappoint, then we should contribute to the campaign.
Lee is the latest well-known person to go the crowdfunding route to finance his next project. Actor and director Zach Braff launched and successfully met his financial goal for his next film through a Kickstarter campaign. The team behind the canceled television series Veronica Mars also acquired enough funds ($5 million) to finance a feature film based on the series. Lee's last film, Red Hook Summer, was reportedly funded by the director himself.
