Cameron Ervin, 17, and Christopher Ervin, 22, were arrested at their parent's home and each charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and two counts of arson in the first degree, the report says. They are ineligible for bond.

The arrests came after the mother of the suspects, Yvonne Ervin, called 911 just before 8 a.m. to report that โ€œher sons were trying to kill her and her husband,โ€ Zachary, Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Rich Long told WSB-TV.

โ€œShe told the 911 operator that the husband was distracting the sons and she was able to call,โ€ Long told the news station. โ€œThat is probably the lifesaving move from this event.โ€

Police arrived at the home moments after the call and apprehended the suspects, the report says. Officers also detected a โ€œstrong odor of natural gasโ€ inside the home, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. โ€œThe exact intention was unclear, but Long said the gas was โ€˜part of the overall planโ€™ allegedly devised by the Ervin brothers,โ€ the news outlet reports.

The father was discovered with stabbing wounds and bleeding heavily, and the mother was seriously injured, the report says. Both were transported to a nearby hospital.

The sons were booked on the charges at the Gwinnett County jail shortly after 12:30 p.m., the report says. So far police have no motive in the brutal attacks.
