Itโ€™s the latest incident in a string of suicide bombings that have rocked the region. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Al-Jazeera this incident is consistent with the modus operandi of Boko Haram and the terror tactics the jihadist group has used in the region in recent weeks.

โ€œResidents said the bomber entered the market accompanied by two men, one of whom they said was killed by an angry mob after the blast,โ€ the report says.ย โ€œThe attack came a day after the Nigerian army said it had recaptured and [secured] the northeastern town of Chibok, where Boko Haram rebels kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls in April. The group hadย captured the town on Thursday.โ€ย

The Azare bombing was the townโ€™s third in recent weeks. On Nov. 7 a bomb detonated outside a bank in Azare, and on Oct. 23 a bomb โ€œnear anย Azare bus stationย killed at least five people,โ€ the news site reports.
