A new 30-second snippet featuring some scenes from the upcoming season of Empire reveals some of the developments taking place with the Lyon family.
In one scene, we see that Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) seems to have buried the hatchet with Lucious Lyon’s ex-fiancee Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey), since they’re seen strutting into Empire Records with Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray) by their side.
There also seems to be a massive effort under way to drum up public support for getting Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) out of prison. Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) is seen performing at a huge concert with the words “#FreeLucious” emblazed on a screen behind him.
And likely the most poetic scene is the turning of tables between Lucious and his ex-wife, Cookie. She’s seen visiting him in prison. My, how the tables have turned.
