In addition to losing a rap battle against Kendrick Lamar, on Monday, one Drakeโs other worst nightmares came true...and itโs all thanks to Charlamagne tha God. Iโll explain.

You see, on Monday morningโs episode of โThe Breakfast Club,โ the popular radio host and personality reignited talks of the Canadian rapper and the petitions he filed against his label UMG on Nov. 26 (and Lamar by extension) for conspiring to conflate streaming numbers and defamation for Lamarโs summer hit/diss track โNot Like Us.โ
When the news broke out that he filed, Drake was swiftly met with online backlash, with many coining it a โKaren moveโ since he essentially involved lawyers in a simple rap beef. Now, that move has earned him Charlamagneโs infamous โDonkey of the Dayโ designation.
โHeโs a hoe,โ Charlamagne said plainly. โThis just lets me know Drake donโt understand culture. Because โNot Like Usโ is a cultural phenomenon and itโs very rare air for a song to become what โNot Like Usโ has become. It is a cultural identifier for a whole coast. One day, California is going to change their state motto to โNot Like Us.โ Guaranteed.โ
He continued:
โI told yโall Drake was going to file a lawsuit. I told you Drake was going to sue. He is a multi-billion dollar entity, no multi-billion dollar entity is going to allow you to call him a pedophile or sex offender and not take some sort of legal action. But hereโs the thing, the person who has the real defamation case in this situation is Kendrickโs woman [Whitney Alford], because Drake not only said Kendrick was beating on her he said that Dave Free, Kendrickโs business partner and friend, was the real father to one of Kendrickโs kids.โ
Charlamagne went on to say that if anybody should be suing for defamation, it should be Kendrickโs fiancรฉ Alford and that Drake essentially shouldnโt be throwing stones while living in a glass house.
โIf youโre going to accuse somebody of defamation, you must first make sure you too arenโt guilty of defamation,โ Charlamagne said. โDrake saying that Kendrick defamed him is indeed the pot calling the kettle beige, but thatโs not even why Iโm giving him donkey of the day. Iโm giving him donkey of the day because Drake is proving, without a shadow of a doubt, that he simply doesnโt understand culture.โ
