During a Saturday night performance in Boston, the outspoken rapper superimposed Trumpโs face on the cover of his 2003 debut album โGet Rich or Die Tryinโโ and put it on screen behind his stage. Fif, who rose to fame in the early aughts in part for surviving a shooting, displayed the photoshop image while performing the song โMany Men.โ
The song is about the emcee being shot nine times in Queens, NY, in 2000. The lyrics for the trackโs chorus include: โMany men/Many, many, many, many men/Wish death โpon me/Lord, I donโt cry no more/Donโt look to the sky no more/Have mercy on me.โ
On Saturday night, 50 Cent also shared the altered cover with the caption: โTrump gets shot and now Iโm trending ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ.โ
On Saturday afternoon, Trump survived an apparent assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pa. Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was shot to death by Secret Service snipers after firing several shots. Former Pennsylvania volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore was killed during the incident.
Last month, 50 Cent was on the receiving end of backlash when he stated that Black men โidentifiedโ with Trump and posed for pictures with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and others at the Capitol.
The โ21 Questionsโ rapper was also at the center of controversy back in 2020 when he supported Trump before he decided to ultimately endorse President Joe Biden in the election.
As of now, Fif has not endorsed either candidate in their presumed 2024 presidential rematch.
