In 2017, then-24-year-old Lamora Williams called authorities and said her sons were deceased after leaving them with a caregiver for the day. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered the bodies of 1-year-old son Ja’Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke-Yaunte Penn. A third child, 3-year-old Jameel Penn Jr., was found unharmed.

But according to Fox 5 Atlanta, investigators eventually learned the boys were not left with a caregiver. In fact, Williams had put her two sons in the oven either early that morning or the night before.
After a two-week trial in Fulton County, Lamora Williams learned her fate after being convicted for the murders of her two toddler sons seven years ago. On Friday (Nov. 15), the Atlanta mother was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 35 years.
As reported by WSB-TV, Williams was convicted of multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, cruelty to children, and other related offenses.
The autopsy reports for the boys stated they died after a “prolonged exposure to heat” from an oven that was tipped over. The reports noted that it would “require an extensive amount of time to get to this degree.”
In 2017, Jameel Penn, the children’s father, told Channel 2 Action News that their deaths were like a nightmare.
“It’s like a real horror movie. It’s like Friday the 13th,” Jameel Penn said at the time. Jameel Penn, Jr. has resided with his father after the death of his siblings.
Since 2017, Williams has remained at the Fulton County Jail and was previously indicted on several charges, including murder for the death of the two children.
According to a report from People Magazine, Williams’ mother previously told Fox 5 Atlanta that she has a history of mental health issues.
