We’re well aware that former President Donald Trump isn’t the most popular amongst Black Americans or Democrats, but some lines you just can’t cross.

In response to the attempted assassination of Trump during his Pennsylvania rally, resulting in two dead and several injured, Democrats and Republicans have overwhelmingly put their differences aside to condemn political violence and wish the former president a speedy recovery.
But one staffer for a Democratic congressman from Mississippi couldn’t help but express her distain for the former president. Immediately following the shooting, Jacqueline Marsaw took to her social media to write about her disappointment that the shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, missed his intended target.
On Facebook, Marsaw wrote “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time,” according to the New York Post. In an attempt to hide her true feelings— but not very well— Marsaw concluded her post saying “ooops that wasn’t me talking,” but we all knew the truth.
In case one post wasn’t enough, Marsaw went on to call the incident “staged,” a sentiment felt amongst many social media users and even some politicians like Tenn. Sen. Antonio Parkinson.
In a final post, Marsaw suggested the attempt on Trump’s life was karma for his past incendiary remarks: “That’s what your hate speech got you!”
Marsaw’s karma came swiftly as all of her original posts have since been deleted as of Sunday morning. In a statement, Rep. Bennie Thompson said “I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment,” according to Fox News.
In contrast to his former employee’s sentiments, Thompson tweeted “there is no room in American democracy for political violence.”
In her defense, Marsaw spoke out saying she “got overwhelmed in the moment.” The self proclaimed “diehard Democrat” clearly let her political vigor take control, and because of it, she will be looking for a new job heading into the November election.
